About Me

Visual art making is a practice that fills me up.

I mostly draw people and their animal companions, but also other miscellaneous flora and fauna and nature-inspired abstracts. I am unendingly enthralled by the natural world and love sharing that wonder with my two amazing daughters. I live with them and my equally wonderful and supportive husband in Medford, MA.

I do commissioned portraits, posters, children’s book illustrations (in the works now, so examples coming soon!), and more. Get in touch if you’d like to work together.

My Story

As a kid, I was always drawing. Art was central to my very being and I felt it was surely destined to be a meaningful part of my life.

I did take a long hiatus from it, however. The art department where I went to college felt insular and under-resourced. And, to my great surprise, I fell in love with biology. So, motivated by an inexorable fear of the ecological collapse of our planet and a steady pressure to conform to a more conventional career path, I went on to attain advanced degrees in sustainable food systems and environmental health. I worked in that field for 8 years, finding some artistic outlet in data visualization projects. But, something was missing.

Somewhere between having two babies and wallowing in the throes of the COVID-19 pandemic, my priories began to refocus; I quit my job and rediscovered that quintessential artistic part of myself. I hope to use this site to share my work with others.
